Nondezvous June, 2002
By the Editor
Due to the ICCCR event in
Amherst, MA there was no "official" Rendezvous this year.
Instead, the Mid-Summer's Nondezvous was held at the home of Richard
Stanman and Susan Rider in Van Nuys. The day was temperate and not
overly sunny- just right for an outdoor buffet. The caterering company
did a great job, though one would not know it since Pete and Allan ate
almost all the shrimp and guacamole by themselves.
A lovely variety of cars appeared including an Ami 6, several 2 CVs
both Truckettes and sedans, CX sedan and Break, Traction Commerciale,
D sedans and Breaks. Nondezvous participants drove from Riverside
County, Laguna Beach, Long Beach, Sunland and Irwindale. Several cars
at Nondezvous were being prepared to participate in the Mad Dash or
the Tracbar trips. In particular the Traction Commerciale appeared 19
days later at the Tracbar kickoff party wearing new paint and a rear
new fender.
People's Choice winner was James Moors with the Ami 6 sedan. This car
started out as a wrecking yard special, and over the years James
transformed it bit by bit.
Everyone had a good time, except Bob Henry whose car keys vanished
half way thtough the evetn. The writer has had a similar experience
and I know that after the keys were missing I couldn't think about
anything else. At least it wasn't the wallet. |
