Raid North to Alaska
We - a group of Citroën Enthusiasts from the beautiful Pacific Northwest - invite YOU to join us on this trip up to Alaska. In the true spirit of 2CV Raids it will be a camping event. There is a lot to see and to do up there, it's a huge area and we'll have to drive many miles. Still, we're also planning a few rest days for the most scenic places.
We're looking forward seeing you NORTH TO ALASKA!

3 Weeks through the breathtaking scenery of the far north of North America between June 2 and June 24 2006. (See facts and data about Alaska) Starting from Bellingham with a ride on the Alaska Ferry System through the Inside Passage up to famous Skagway. From there by road to the most beautiful places in Alaska, the Canadian Yukon Territory and British Columbia down to Vancouver, B.C.
Optional sidetrips: See the beauty of Prince William Sound from the Ferry Boat from Valdez to Whittier and / or get to the northernmost place you can reach by car on the North American Continent, Inuvik.

The ferry schedule for 2006 has just been published. We could manage to make a reservation on the ferry Columbia for 30 cars. So time is of the essence, the deadline March 24th 2006 is approaching fast.

All participants need passports! We will be crossing the US / Canadian border several times.

"Raid ALASKA 2006" will start Friday afternoon, June 2nd with our departure on the ferry "M/V Columbia" from Bellingham, Washington State.

For 4 days we will enjoy one of the most beautiful boat trips available in this world, the famous Inside Passage with it's countless islands, fjords, glaciers and mountains, it's rich wildlife of eagles, otters, orcas, and whales, just to name a few.

There are 2 different options to spend the 3 nights on the ferryboat:

All prices on the event web site include the fuel surcharge, etc.

If you do not wish to take the Ferry North, you can also meet the Raid in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, at the first campground. However, note that the driving distance from Seattle to Whitehorse is 1,700 miles (2,700 km). This is 4 to 5 long driving days instead of 3 relaxed days on the ferry.

Raid ALASKA will be camping for 19 nights in Alaska, the Yukon Territory, and British Columbia. The total driving distance will be about 3700 miles (5500 km). Participants are responsible for their own food, fuel, etc.

The last night we will stay in a Motel in Vancouver, B.C. and have our Farewell Party Saturday night, June 24th with the NorthWest Citroen Owners Club.
